ICANN 在法國巴黎召開的討論會，正式表決通過「自訂」網域名稱提案(proposal)。詳細原文在 ICANN News已經公告出來了。也就是說之後的網域名稱，不會再只侷限於傳統常見的 .com / .org / .info，申請人可以自訂網域名稱，並提出申請。目前預估 2009年Q2開始第一波作業。
這在網路發展史上，應該算是蠻大的一次變革吧。不過對這一般 user的影響，恐怕要幾年後才看得出來。

最新研究顯示，女性在童年時若與父親關係親密，
長大後挑選男友或老公時，比較可能受到長得像父親的男性吸引。
英國杜倫大學和波蘭兩個學術研究機構合作的這項研究，以四十九位十五至卅四歲身為家中長女的女性為樣本，請每人在十五張耳朵、頭髮、頸部、肩膀、衣著都被裁切掉的男性臉部特寫照片中，挑選她們認為最具吸引力的男性。然後研究人員將受訪者挑出的照片與她們的父親進行比較。
研究人員也要求受訪女性評估她們從出生到七歲之間和父親的關係，包括父親參與照顧她們長大過程的程度、和她們共度多少休閒時光，以及父親在她們身上投注多少情感等。
分析結果發現，認為童年時和父親關係親密的女性，往往容易受到面貌類似父親的男性吸引；自認和父親關係較不熱絡的受訪者則未出現此種現象。
這項研究確認女兒和父親關係的好壞會影響女兒對伴侶的挑選，人類大腦不會只根據和週遭人士相處的經驗就建立理想伴侶的挑選標準，而是以和自己有深度正面關係的人作為標準。
